Equitable partnerships is simply attending to the cosmetic arrangements of the collaboration such as who is the Principal Investigator; while transformative collaborations goes beyond this and takes more seriously the contextual and other invisible but powerful issues that shape the collaboration such as who decides on the question, methodologies and where do methods come from, etc.
