The Africa Charter Steering Group is meeting for four days at HUMA – Institute for Humanities in Africa at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa.
Senior representatives from UCT, University of South Africa (UNISA), the Perivoli Africa Research Centre (PARC) at the University of Bristol, the Association of African Universities (AAU), the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA), CODESIRA – the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa, the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and other African and global higher education leaders are attending for this important next step in the Charter’s development.
To consolidate plans and structures to advance the implementation of the Africa Charter globally, we are establishing a Charter secretariat and a wider programme of policy- and practice-focused work.
